About ExpenseTracker
ExpenseTracker is a straightforward app for tracking daily expenses and recurring EMIs (installments) in a way that stays useful month after month. It’s built for people who want clarity—not complexity. If you’ve ever tried spreadsheets and gave up after a week, or you’ve used a finance app that felt too heavy, ExpenseTracker is meant to be the simpler alternative: log expenses quickly, switch months easily, and use charts to understand patterns.
What the app does
ExpenseTracker focuses on a few high-impact actions that actually change behavior:
- Track daily expenses: add one-time spending entries (food, travel, bills, shopping, etc.).
- Review month-by-month: jump to previous months to compare totals and identify trends.
- See charts and summaries: visual insights help you quickly spot high-spend days.
- Manage EMIs: add an EMI once and keep it active until the end date so it’s included automatically (no repetitive monthly entry).
Who ExpenseTracker is for
This product is for anyone who wants to understand spending without needing accounting skills. Typical users include:
- Individuals building a simple budgeting habit
- Students tracking pocket money and subscriptions
- Families monitoring monthly household spending
- Anyone with loans/EMIs who wants commitments visible every month
How it works (high level)
ExpenseTracker is organized around months because monthly thinking matches how most people budget (salary cycles, rent, bills, EMI schedules). On the dashboard you can select a month and year, add expenses, and review a chart of daily totals. On the EMI page, you can create installment entries with an amount and end date. Active EMIs are treated as recurring commitments so your month-to-month view stays realistic.
The goal is to reduce friction. The faster it is to log an expense, the more likely you’ll keep tracking—and consistency is what makes the charts meaningful.
Principles we follow
- Clarity over features: a few reliable views are better than dozens you never open.
- Habits over perfection: tracking is useful even if you miss a day. Keep going.
- Privacy-minded by default: we aim to collect only what’s needed to provide the service.
- Mobile-friendly UX: tracking should work smoothly on a phone.
